Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. In her early Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with actors and directors in stage and on screen throughout the entirety of her professional career. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. It's also available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will return in 2023. He will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that produced Hamilton is directing the show. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. For two seasons, she was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
